Description
“Trad” is short for traditional, as one of the classic tin whistle designs over the years has been a thin-walled brass or nickel body with a plastic mouthpiece (Generations, Feadogs, etc..). The difference here is that instead of a mass-produced head joint, Tony puts his own mouthpiece atop a precision drilled body with a nice wide bore. The wide bore not only affords a sweet and mellow tone but an in tune 0XX 000 C natural fingering! Rare for thin-walled brass whistles such as these. We recommend these on a daily basis. You just can’t go wrong with the Trad!
About Tony Dixon
Tony Dixon from Devon, England has made quite a name for himself over the last few years with his wide range of whistles, flutes and “Duos” (one body with interchangeable whistle and flute head joints). Being an accomplished musician, Tony doesn’t let an instrument out of his workshop that he wouldn’t be happy playing himself. That attitude combined with efficient manufacturing processes allows Tony to offer instruments that sound “like a million bucks” yet cost much, much less!
