From the Author

Perhaps the most challenging thing to master when learning to play traditional Irish music is the ability to play “in sync” with other musicians.  The Complete Irish Tinwhistle Tunebook gives you the chance to do exactly that.  It is a collection of 125 tunes you’re liable to hear at most traditional Irish music sessions.  Once you have these tunes under your belt and in your finders, you’ll be able to sit down with a group of Irish musicians anywhere in the world and play with comfort and confidence.

About the Author

L.E. McCullough, Ph.D. has been performing and teaching traditional Irish music on tinwhistle and flute since 1972.  Since then, he has recorded and toured with a variety of groups including Trim the Velvet, Devilish Merry, Bourrée Texane, Money in Both Pockets and the Irish Airs and has appeared on thirty-four recordings with Irish, French, Cajun, Latin, blues, jazz, country, bluegrass and rock ensembles for Angel/EMI, Sony Classical, RCA, Warner Brothers, Log Cabin, Kicking Mule, Rounder, Bluezette and other labels.  His playing was featured in the soundtracks of the Ken Burns PBS television series The West, Lewis and Clark, and Not for Ourselves Alone and the Neil Jordan film Michael Collins.  Dr. McCullough is also an inspired composer-arranger with a rare talent for shaping brand new genres based on traditional musical structures.  His three solo albums, His Own Kind, Late Bloomer and Feadanísta, have spotlighted dozens of his own compositions while stretching accepted stylistic boundaries to create the fresh new musical hybrid of Celtic World Beat, an idiom critics have dubbed “the ultimate folk-fusion…multifaceted, innovative, unorthodox and slightly nefarious.”  Through his classic instruction book, The Complete Irish Tinwhistle Tutor (Oak Publications), L.E. McCullough has taught the joys of tinwhistling to more than one million people worldwide.

Testimonials

Received the bones and LOVE them. The Percy Danforth tape is GREAT. Not only does he teach you how to get going, but the musicians he preforms with and the music they play is worth the tape even if you don't play the bones. It blew me away. The Clarke's, as always, are great. I love the c whistle. I might be playing it more then the d--I like the way it responds. Once more, thank you for the great customer service. In this day and age of lets mass market it and make money and who gives a flip about the customer, you, sir, are one of a kind. Thank you and have a blessed day.

I wanted to send you this email to let you know that I really enjoy the Feadog whistle that my wife purchased from you about two weeks ago. I figured I would ask for something rather inexpensive for Father's day. So I showed her the Feadog 3 piece combo set. I really like the tone and the tutor is good too. Thanks again.
