Excellent whistle! Review by Beatrice Victoria
When I first purchased these whistles I was not expecting much from them. To me, they looked cheap, they had funny spacing between the finger holes, they were shaped funny, and the only colors they came in on the website that I was at were red, green, yellow and blue. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have bought them, but I was rapidly losing whistles... one was loaned to a friend, one was missing, one was broken. I was to the point that it was recorder or nothing. I couldn't stand that ultimatum, so I gritted my teeth and bought the Meg High C and High D. Less than 20 bucks with shipping, which was the price I'd paid for my poorly tuned recorder.
Imagine my surprise when I open the box and start playing on them — they sound beautiful! They're easy to get sound out of, they're in pretty good tune — it was one of those moments that you just go "Wow! This is a truly exceptional instrument — I want another one!" So I bought two more, another C and another D. Yes, duplicates, but with my track record? I needed them.
That was four years ago. I'm still in love with my beautiful Megs. I've not found a whistle that compares with them thus far. The spacing of the final hole on the C was a bit difficult to get used to, but over all it's a great instrument, and I'd recommend it to anyone — I've actually given a C and a D away and bought new ones for my collection ;) (Posted on 7/7/11)
