Light Line 2.0 Classic Review by Chris
I purchased this drum in January of 2011 to upgrade from my Pakistani drum. As the previous review suggests, this drum is a beauty -- looks good, feels good, even smells good, too. The tone is great, and the skin is supple and responsive. It is a definite improvement over my old drum and a delight to play. I'm not an expert player, either, but the difference between what I could produce on my old drum compared to the new Light Line drum was noticeable from the start. I am very pleased with this drum and with the service I received from Whistle & Drum. (Posted on 5/20/11)

Light Line 2.0 Compact Review by StevenD
I just received my Light Line 2.0 Compact bodhran in the post today. About 3 days after I placed the order. I'm no great bodhran player (I hope I can say yet) but this is going to be a fun drum to play and continue my learning with. It came just in time to use in an upcoming performance I am participating in. It is well built of sturdy solid hardwood. There is that nice natural wood worked smell. The skin is the best I have seen and felt. It is smooth and mellow and conditioned on both sides and is ready to play. It produces a wide range of sounds from lows to high ends. I'm used to playing drums that are not as deep so this will take me a little bit of time to adjust. I like the compact size. Since I just got it I haven't played around with the tuning knobs that can be worked without a tool. The fingers is all it takes. The black substance around the outside edge that overlaps the head looks like some kind of tape. Time will tell how well it holds up and keeps from coming up. I almost wish it was signed but Christian Hedwitschak's logo wood burned on the inside frame is a nice touch.
I also purchased the GEWA soft case that was on special. I was expecting there to be a couple of inches extra room and this bodhran would move around loose inside the case but this 36cm bodhran fits quite tight in it. It is a nice compact bag and I like the molded soft plastic handle which is comfortable to hold. It would have been even nicer had it come with a side pocket to store tippers. And it comes with an easy adjustable strap. (Posted on 4/24/10)
