Andrea Corr of The Corrs Playing a Feadóg
Feadóg Whistles developed the Feadóg Pro Nickel D with the more professional musician in mind. It has a heavier nickel-plated barrel and is tunable (mouthpiece moves fore and aft for fine tuning). Since it’s launch, it has been receiving favorable comments. Karen Ennis of the famed Canadian band The Ennis Sisters is a particular fan. “I absolutely love this whistle and will be using it in our upcoming shows.”
The tone of Feadóg whistles could be described as “classic tin whistle”; in the same family of sound as say Generations and Oaks though unique. It takes only a small amount of air to play these whistles. As such, they are not loud but more on the quiet side. They also have a bit of chiff, finishing of the otherwise pure tone with a slight edge.
About Feadóg
Feadóg Teoranta (Irish for "Whistles Ltd.") was founded in Dublin in 1978 with the aim of producing a high quality, traditional Irish whistle that was actually made in Ireland and was affordable to anyone who wanted to play music. Since then, they have stuck firmly to that principle and the company has gone from strength to strength.
