Description
Acorn Pennywhistles feature patented mouthpieces made in the USA and brass / painted brass bodies made by Feadog in Ireland, one of Irelands most respected tin whistle manufacturers. They are very similar to Oak Pennywhistles, sharing the same mouthpiece and body, but are not nickel plated or boxed with a fingering chart. They are available in 6 colors: black, green, blue, red, gray and natural brass.
The question might then be Should I get the Oak or the Acorn? We suggest to go with which you like the look of better as they sound almost identical. The Acorn costs a bit less so if you need to buy a bunch for a class or on a tight budget, it might be the way to go. Remember though, the Oak comes boxed with a fingering chart and as such makes a nice gift for folks just starting out.
